I think that dates back to 1984. I didn't start until 1988, by that time, the Broadway stage had become a refuge for racoons and stoners. The Rock & Roll stage, unfortunately, was still going strong.
Wow! That wasn't just old school, that was OLD school. Like even-before-our-time old school. Yikes.
